10/29/05 Well it has taken me a few weeks to regroup after my wonderful class in New Jersey. I met some great and talented people and I learned a whole lot. Doug is a patient teacher who helped break some of my soft glass bad habits, like turning the mandrel too fast and not putting the bead close enough to the cones of the torch. I hope to soon be making prettier beads with clearer designs and brighter colors. My classmates were an interesting and diverse group. It was a great experience. The drive alone was rather peaceful and the 3 night hotel stay was pretty cool too. I won a strand of inside out beads made by David Mullen of Yoshi in the silent auction on the day of the festival. That was really great. It was a nice break from real life but it's equally nice to be home with my family armed with my new knowledge. As soon as i perfect my "Dougie Pink" I'll post some pics.
